REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Permanent Supportive Housing for moderate to high acuity Housing First Clients

Picture
The Fredericton Housing First Fund is currently receiving applications for Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) developments for Housing First purposes (for developments between 3 and 8 units).

The Fredericton Housing First Fund (FHFF), a joint initiative of United Way of Central New Brunswick and Fredericton Community Foundation, was created as a direct support to The Road Home: A Plan to End Homelessness in Fredericton.

The goal of the Fredericton Housing First Fund is to enable the creation of 40 Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) ‘units’ in Fredericton in our efforts to build a fully functioning Housing First system. Disbursements will be made in the amount of $25,000 per approved unit with $10,692 remaining in endowment to assist with ongoing maintenance cost of the unit.  Please note, annual disbursements from the endowment will be contingent upon the unit’s use as PSH for Housing First purposes.

Please note, PSH comes in many forms, shapes and sizes: from new developments to refurbishment of existing properties.  However, in order to help charities in their efforts to create Housing First units, the Mayor's Task Force on Homelessness's Form Working Group has created open source plans that are freely available to interested groups.  This model is describe in more detail in the Mayor's Task Force Final Report (pg. 14).

See complete plans, specifications and quote for this sample typology HERE.  However, Fund will consider all typologies presented.
